Okay,
usually I would not jump to anything written with that subtitle.
But Girl Genius, boy oh boy, this is something very different!
It's a fantasy comic story based in a world similar to Jules Vernes: Mad Scientists, Steam powered machines, artificially created monsters...
Oh, and did I mention gorgeous women? Yummy!
This is a ongoing comic series which started in 2002. You can start with the very first comic here. (Black and white at first, fully coloured later)
New readers can get a few welcoming words here.
It is - simply said - the best comic I've ever read.
Although you can read every single comic online, I have already ordered all printed versions available so far - and will see that my collection is kept up to date. It's too precious not to have it at home.
My first contact with the authors Foglio was when I played Magic: The Gathering (a Trading Card Game). They made very distinctive card art for this game. It was years later when I discovered that they made excellent comics as well. Here's the Studio Foglio Homepage for further reading.
So, get yourself a cup of tea, some free time, and plunge into the world of our Hero Agatha....
Cheers,

Oooh, but it's getting better - constantly.
The art - the story arc - simply gripping.

How are women portrayed in Arthurian romance and The Canterbury Tales respectively? I need to write an essay. The actual essay prompt is:
Discuss the changes (or lack thereof) in the portrayal of women in Medieval literature from Arthurian Romance through the Canterbury Tales. I'm confused about the prompt. Was there really much change between Arthurian romance and Canterbury tales? Weren't they in the same time period? Any suggestions? Thanks!
